It’s June now but when I started drafting this post we had just returned from another awesome autumn holiday in Kwa-Zulu Natal. We spent a couple of days in Uvongo, Gillets and then Zinkwazi Beach. Traveling with the boys is definitely getting easier as they get older. We flew on Mango airlines and this time round none of our fellow passengers were harassed.
We spend the first couple of days in Uvongo with Granny and Grandad. The weather was perfect for those few days and I was lucky enough to get some of the best surf I have ever had on the South Coast. Grandad recruited Dylan as his chief mole hill demolisher and Warrick recruited Grandad as his number one bowler.
Next stop Gillets where the weather played ball again. It is true that you pay more attention to the weather as you get older. Then again it could also be because raindays are hell with 6 young lads. We had a great time at the Mundell’s as usual but the roosters need some training.
This year I was relieved to see that the sand covering the rock shelf in front of the Zinkwazi house had been washed away. It makes a big difference having it exposed at low tide and the boys loved playing in the rock pools. Uncle Sean came out from Canada for a wedding and we were lucky enough to overlap with his visit. Visa issues aside it sounds like Canada has been treating him well and as if he is enjoying his new job.
It was great to see you all again, thanks to everyone for making our holiday as enjoyable as it was.
