We had a fantastic holiday in Plett for the 2012 festive season. Dylan and Warrick have already asked us when we are going back to Granny Dot’s house. Dylan just loves the Plett garden, every now and then he would disappear only to be found in the strangest places. Unfortunately he treated the garden like his giant sandbox. I found Granny Dot following him around the garden with a spade and some toilet paper on a couple of occasions. Dylan’s potty training might have taken a turn for the worse.
For the first half of our holiday we overlapped with Uncle Ross and his family. The cousins got on very well considering the age gaps. I was very impressed with Helen and Luke’s riding, I think that Luke is the race snake in the family. Helen may turn into a race snake too but for now she has the determination of an endurance athlete.
We spent the last couple days of the holiday and New Years with the Hoals. Warrick was inspired by his cousins in the surf and now says he wants to surf with his Daddy when he is big. Thanks guys.
Dylan amazed us all with his courage in the surf. I pushed him into countless foamies on my old body board. He would go straight for a while but eventually turn sideways, catch a rail and tumble over. This happened quite a bit but every time he came up laughing.
15 days away from home was a really nice break. We all feel well rested and ready to hit the ground running in 2013. Thanks to everyone who made the holiday so enjoyable, see you all again soon.
