Ross, Alida, Luke and Helen stopped in for a visit before their epic Western Cape mountain bike adventure. We told Warrick that his cousins were coming to stay with us for the night about 4 days in advance. He wasn’t too sure which cousins so we reminded him that they were the ones with the doggie, Buffy. He was very excited and couldn’t stop talking about them. He even took a picture of Buffy and his cousins to school for “show & tell”.
They arrived on Thursday afternoon and had great fun jumping on the trampoline and playing soccer. Luke has quite a left boot on him! He set about pruning the shrubs with the odd wayward shot! I thought it best if I play goalie and save the Clivias where possible.
Dylan spent quite a bit of time jumping with Helen. He’s used to getting double bounced and harassed by his brother so it was a nice change for him to jump with a caring cousin. After all the excitement he was shattered and crashed straight after bath time. The others made plenty of noise outside his door but there was no way he was going to wake up.
Luke and Helen slept in Warrick’s room which was a real treat for him. Luke slept on the Snooza and Helen on Warrick’s lower bunk. Warrick lent them each a soft toy for the night. I was quite amazed to see Warrick give up “Snappy” the crocodile to Helen so easily. Ali read them all a story and says she was quite impressed with the attention the cousins paid. She either has a knack for reading interesting bedtime stories or it was one they had never heard before.
After that the rest of us took a load off in front of a rather pathetic little fire I had made in the lounge. I think the wood must have been a bit wet. The next time any of us looked at a clock it was 22H30 and time for bed especially with some of us (not me) cycling 40 odd kilometers in the morning.
Thanks for the visit guys we hope your ride was fun and relatively dry we look forward to seeing you again soon.

What sweet pics! Can’t believe how grown-up they are looking (I feel quite ancient). Looks like Warrick is in his element hosting his cousies in his new room. Looking forward to seeing his lovely room in November (nice colour – green!) Bye for now, J.
