We took the boys to Butterfly World on the 15th May 2012. Dylan loves Butterflies and other creepy crawlies so we expected this to be right up his street. Warrick and Dylan had loads of fun and kept us on our toes as usual.
Some of the butterflies are quite docile so we had to keep a sharp eye on Dylsie to make sure he didn’t grab any. Dylan also learned that not all birdies are friendlies. He tried to pet one little green
parrot that didn’t take too kindly to his overtures. A little peck on the finger didn’t seem to put him off though and just made him laugh, stick out his hand again and say; “Come, Come”.
Warrick also had some fun with a Marmoset later. He made the mistake of taking a bit of biltong into the enclosure and a little monkey was all over him in a flash. I quickly grabbed the biltong away from Warrick only to have the monkey harass me. Quite a cute and persistent little guy but Warrick didn’t see the funny side of it.
We love the reaction the boys have to the various creatures. Warrick was desperate to hold one of the guinepigs but I couldn’t catch any. They are wise to our ways.
After chasing the boys around butterfly world for a couple of hours we were exhausted. Dylan still had a bit left in the tank and didn’t sleep in the car on the way back but had a good 3 hour nap in the afternoon.
